Glenn Gray Brand-Building Zealot

Creative Director • Online/Offline Brand-Building Zealot

I bring with me a wide-eyed curiosity and relentless enthusiasm coupled with over 20 years experience as a conceptual creative director/art director / digital designer. I am uniquely able to take a project from strategy through award-winning, effective ideas across all media channels. I don't have one style. I believe the look of a campaign should come from the product and not have one imposed upon it. It's unique and ownable. I love engaging with consumers and guiding them as they fall in love with your brand.

What I've done. Where I've done it.

09/2020 - Present
Glenn Gray Creative
Freelance / Contract / Creative Direction / Design

I have been active in the role of CCO (and designer) for 4 start-ups as they scale and prepare themselves for seed-round funding and small scale roll-out. Two are in the Med Tech field, one is in Health and Wellness and the last is a sports product. I am helping them establish their look and tone that will become part of their DNA moving forward. I am helping with design, communications, pitch decks and presentations. It’s fun to work with enthusiastic people who are passionate about what they do. We match up well that way. I also work with agencies and companies on more standard freelance projects as needed.

05/2019 - 09/2020
BI Worldwide
Contract / Sr. Web Designer

Working within the Learning Group at BIW, I am in charge of designing websites for many of the largest companies in the world. Our group creates training and learning sites serving internal and external partners for companies like, Mazda, AMD, Comcast and Sanofi. In this role, I am involved with the project from client kick-off through final presentation and hand-off to developers. It’s another side of a business I knew nothing about but quickly adapted and drew on my extensive Brand experience to provide insight that a typical designer doesn’t have.

10/2015 – 05/2019

10/2011 – 10/ 2015
Hunt Adkins
Interactive Creative Director

As the Interactive Creative Director, my role was to bring digital thinking into the process earlier. In the first year, we created a fully integrated campaign that included print, TV, outdoor, microsite, social media and street teams. We were shortlisted for a Webby award and changed the thinking for campaigns moving forward. Other clients included, TCF Bank, Mayo Clinic Cancer, Mayo Clinic Health Service, Mayo Clinic Sports, Mayo Clinic Healthy Living, Federal Premium, Federal Fusion, Blackhawk, iWireless, Ryder Cup, Minnesota Timberwolves, U of M Gopher Football, United Health Group and Andersen Windows.

2010 – 2011
Polaris Industries
Interactive Creative Director

Bridged the gap between the Agency of Record and our internal department. A first. Helped design sites to a mobile friendly environment and began collecting content, years before models were to be released. Both firsts. Teamed with the Social Marketing group to shoot, edited and post our own original video content. And lastly, established a creative internship to keep new ideas coming in the door.
Quite a lot to achieve in only 8 months.

2009 - 2010
Space 150

I rolled up my sleeves and dug in to get a crash course in all things digital. Cut assets, designed sites, email marketing and social. In return, I brought my brand concept background to provide the impetus for the Forever 21 Times Square Board that set the agency in new directions.
